Lazard is one of the world’s largest financial advisory and asset management firms. Its history dates back to its founding in 1848 in New Orleans when three Jewish brothers arrived in the United States from Lorraine, France to form Lazard Fréres & Co. The initial company set up by brothers Alexandre, Simon, and Elie Lazard was a dry goods business.
